UConn women stay No. 1 in AP poll

Connecticut remains No. 1 in The Associated Press poll Monday after winning its only game this week.

UConn improved to 26-0 this season after routing South Florida on Sunday and will host Central Florida on Wednesday before visiting Houston on Saturday.

Notre Dame stays No. 2. The Irish, who also are unbeaten this season at 24-0, topped Boston College in their lone game of the week. Notre Dame has a busy week playing Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Duke.

Louisville, South Carolina and Stanford round out the first five.

Baylor, Duke, Maryland, Penn State and Tennessee follow the Cardinal.

North Carolina made the biggest jump, climbing six spots to 11th after beating Duke and NC State.

Rutgers entered at No. 25 while Vanderbilt fell out after losing three games this past week.
