UConn, Irish still ranked 1-2

Connecticut stays No. 1 in The Associated Press poll Monday after two more lopsided wins.

UConn improved to 28-0 after routing Central Florida and Houston. The Huskies have won 34 straight games dating to last season, the fourth-longest streak in school history. UConn will play at SMU on Tuesday before hosting Rutgers on Saturday.

The Irish (27-0) also remained unbeaten after sweeping games against Georgia Tech, Wake Forest and Duke to clinch the ACC title in the school's inaugural season in the conference.

Louisville, South Carolina and Stanford round out the first five. Baylor, Duke, Penn State, Maryland and Tennessee follow the Cardinal. Middle Tennessee and Iowa entered the poll at Nos. 23 and 25, and St. John's and LSU dropped out.
