No. 11 prospect Williams commits to Syracuse

Priscilla Williams, the No. 11 prospect in the espnW Hoopgurlz Class of 2020, committed to Syracuse.

Williams, a 6-foot-2 shooting guard, canceled her remaining visits after spending the weekend in Syracuse, crediting head coach Quentin Hillsman, who is entering his 14th season at the helm, with a major part of her recruitment.

"Coach Hillsman has been recruiting me for the last couple of years. I built a relationship with him," she said. "I got to know the head coach and I felt that he is the one that is deciding my playing time, my scholarship and how to play me."

Williams, who had also drawn interest from Mississippi State, Louisville, Florida State and Southern Methodist, said she hadn't spoken with Syracuse's assistant coaches until her visit.

"He is no act, just organized and real," she said of Hillsman. "I hung out with the players, spent time with them and the staff at the Hillsmans' home. I just knew that continuing the recruiting process, going to other schools wasn't fair to any of the other programs. I told my parents I want to get this done and get this done now. So, I am Syracuse-bound."

Williams adds size to the Orange's backcourt. She is a capable handler in pressure with an ability to knock down jumpers in the lane, consistently find the rim and deliver from beyond the arc.

She is Syracuse's fourth commitment for the Class of 2020. Earlier this month, Syracuse landed No. 91 prospect Faith Blackstone (6-0 SG, NC), Khamva McNeil (5-8 SG, WI) and Kiara Fischer (5-6 PG, NY).

Nine of the top 20 prospects in the Class of 2020 are still on the board, led by second-ranked wing Angel Reese.
