          Reigning winner Sabrina Ionescu of Oregon highlights Wooden Award preseason list

          Oregon senior Sabrina Ionescu, the 2019 Wooden Award winner for the most outstanding player in women's college basketball, headlines the list of 30 preseason candidates for this season.

          Teammates Ruthy Hebard and Satou Sabally joined Ionescu on the list. The Ducks reached their first Final Four last April and open this season with their first No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press poll in school history.

          Seniors Lauren Cox and Juicy Landrum and junior Didi Richards from defending national champion Baylor also were named preseason candidates.

          No. 3 Stanford (Kiana Williams and DiJonai Carrington), No. 5 UConn (Crystal Dangerfield and Christyn Williams) and No. 7 Oregon State (Mikayla Pivec and Destiny Slocum) were the only other schools with multiple players on the top 30 list.

          The Pac-12 led the way with nine candidates. Six SEC players made the list, followed by four each from the ACC and Big 12.

          Sixteen seniors made the cut, as well as 12 juniors. Kentucky's Rhyne Howard and UConn's Williams are the only sophomores on the list.

          • Haley Gorecki, Duke (6-0, Sr., G)

          • Tyasha Harris, South Carolina (5-10, Sr., G)

          • Ruthy Hebard, Oregon (6-4, Sr., F)
