Hoyas coach Keith Brown resigns

Women's College Basketball, Georgetown Hoyas

WASHINGTON -- Georgetown women's basketball coach Keith Brown has resigned after an investigation into unprofessional conduct and inappropriate language as alleged by some of his players.

Georgetown announced Brown's resignation Thursday, citing a school policy that stresses the importance of "providing an environment for student-athletes that is safe, supportive, and founded upon the values of integrity, respect, care, honesty and professionalism."

The school began looking into the allegations three weeks ago, and last week announced that Brown and assistant coach Tim Valentine had been placed on administrative leave.

The school said Thursday that Valentine has been cleared and has returned to the team. He and fellow assistants Krystal Reeves-Evans and Kenya Kirkland are conducting practices.

The Hoyas were 15-16 in Brown's only year as head coach.
