Sports media personality and former NFL punter Pat McAfee has signed a multiyear contract extension with WWE, the promotion announced on Thursday.

McAfee's main role is as the color commenter on WWE's "SmackDown" show on Friday nights. He has been in that position since April 2021.

McAfee has also spent time performing in the squared circle. He made his WWE main roster debut back in April at WrestleMania 38, taking on top prospect Theory and ended up also in an impromptu match with Vince McMahon, the 76-year-old patriarch of WWE.

For his troubles, McAfee was given a "Stunner" by legend "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Later this month, McAfee will return to the ring. He has a scheduled match at WWE SummerSlam on July 30 in Nashville against Happy Corbin, a WWE wrestler who happens to be McAfee's former roommate and teammate with the Indianapolis Colts.
