Saints bolster offensive line depth, add veteran Lucas Patrick

NEW ORLEANS -- The Saints have agreed to terms with offensive lineman Lucas Patrick on a one-year deal, according to his agents, Joel and Justin Turner.

Patrick, 30, spent the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears and started 15 games at center because of injuries. He allowed 25 hurries, 2 quarterback hits and no sacks in 953 snaps.

He started five games for the Bears as a reserve guard in 2022, playing both left and right guard before a toe injury cost him the final 10 games of the season.

Patrick was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2016. He spent five seasons in Green Bay at center and guard, starting 34 games from 2017 to 2021, including 28 in his final two seasons there.

Patrick followed former Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy from the Packers to Chicago in March 2022. Initially signed as a free agent center, he was moved to a backup role after a training camp injury before returning to the starting lineup.
