BOX SCORE
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Kirk Rueter, ineffective in his last two starts, threw six shutout innings as the San Francisco Giants beat the Colorado Rockies 7-3 Tuesday. After giving up six earned runs in his last seven innings, Rueter gave up six hits and walked none. Nine of his 18 outs came on grounders. San Francisco's overall pitching has been horrible this spring with a 7.97 ERA, but the Giants continue to hit well. Even without starters Barry Bonds, Marvin Benard and Bill Mueller, San Francisco had 16 hits against Colorado. Armando Rios had three singles and Terrell Lowery, a non-roster invitee, doubled, tripled, walked and was hit by a pitch. Jeff Manto, who has bounced between the minor and major leagues for 16 years, had a two-run double for Colorado as he tries to win a reserve outfield job. Rockies starter Brian Bohanon gave up three runs on 10 hits in six innings. He is working on a changeup and a sinker so hitters can't focus on his favorite pitch, a fastball that tails away from right-handers.
