SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Gary Sheffield is well aware that he carved out a place in Dodgers history. Sheffield tied the Dodgers' franchise record with his 43rd homer, and Chan Ho Park struck out 13 and also homered in his first major-league shutout, leading Los Angeles to a 3-0 win over the San Diego Padres on Friday night. "Just to know that you're included in the history of this organization, with the type of players they've had, I'm happy," Sheffield said. Park (18-10) pitched a two-hitter and extended his scoreless streak to 25 innings. Sheffield hit a solo shot in the eighth to match Duke Snider's mark, set with Brooklyn in 1956. Sheffield broke his career high of 42 with Florida in 1996. "I'm happy that it's been a good year all the way around for me personally," Sheffield said. "But those things are secondary. I'll look at it at the end of my career and I'll cherish it a little more." Park added his own flair with a leadoff homer in the eighth that gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. Two outs later, Sheffield connected off Woody Williams (10-8). Park's drive gave the Dodgers a franchise-record 209 home runs this season, besting the previous mark of 208 set by Brooklyn in 1953. Sheffield's homer gave Los Angeles 210. "One run was big for me in this game," Park said. "I made it a little easier on me." Park retired the final 13 batters. He has not allowed a run in his last three starts, giving up just 10 hits with 33 strikeouts. "My arm is still strong and I feel so good," Park said. "But I feel sad because there are no more games left." Park, who already established a career high for wins, allowed singles to Phil Nevin and Greg LaRocca. Park walked one and did not permit a runner past first base. "You could see from the very first pitch that he was going to have a great game," Dodgers manager Davey Johnson said. "It was an unbelievable outing." San Diego was shut out for the third time in five games as its losing streak stretched to six games. Los Angeles has surrendered only one run against the Padres in three straight games, allowing two hits in each. Park pitched eight shutout innings against San Diego in a 1-0 win Sunday. "He is just locked in and we didn't get much to hit," Padres manager Bruce Bochy said. "We just ran into a guy who's pitching as good as anyone in the league right now." Williams gave up three runs -- two earned -- on six hits. Williams lost 2-1 to the Dodgers and Kevin Brown in his last start when he allowed two unearned runs in eight innings. "The way things have gone for us the last week, it's sad," Williams said. "It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth." Tom Goodwin led off the game with a grounder a few steps to LaRocca's left between first and second. LaRocca first bobbled the ball, then stumbled and fell as he attempted to pick it up for an error. After stealing his 54th base, Goodwin scored on Shawn Green's two-out single to center. Game notesSheffield came into the game with just two hits in 26 at-bats against San Diego this season. ... With his next RBI, Green will join Sheffield (108) and Eric Karros (106 RBI) as the only trio in Los Angeles history with 100 or more RBI in the same season. ...
