SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ Tim Duncan had 19 points, 17 rebounds and six blocked shots and David Robinson scored 27 points as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Golden State Warriors 102-90 on Thursday night for their fifth straight win.

The Spurs started slowly, trailing 19-7 midway through the first quarter, but finished strong in handing the Warriors their eighth straight defeat.

San Antonio (47-25) took control with a 23-8 run to open a 76-60 lead in the third quarter. Golden State got as close as eight several times in the final period, the last time with just under a minute to go.

Mookie Blaylock had 19 points and Larry Hughes 17 for the Warriors.

Robinson had 13 points and nine rebounds in the first quarter as the Spurs trailed 31-26.

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich attempted to get his team untracked by calling two time outs in the first four minutes and three in the first quarter. The Spurs finally cut the lead to five by the end of the first quarter, but still trailed most of the first half.

Only a three-pointer by Jaren Jackson with 6.7 seconds left gave San Antonio a 53-52 edge, its biggest lead of the first half. ^Notes: San Antonio may activate guard Terry Porter from the injured list for the two-game Eastern swing to Miami and Orlando on Sunday and Tuesday. Porter has missed 13 games with a sprained ligament in his left knee. ... Of the Spurs last 10 games, only two are against teams with a losing record _ Vancouver twice. ... Golden State went 1-15 in March and it took the Warriors two overtimes to get that win in Chicago . . . The Warriors Adonal Foyle set a career high with eight blocked shots.
