LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Ray Allen scored 16 of his 35 points in the third quarter as the Milwaukee Bucks handed the Los Angeles Clippers their ninth straight loss Thursday night, 104-85.

Sam Cassell had 15 points and 16 assists for the Bucks, who have won consecutive games for the first time since Jan. 29-31, when they beat Seattle and Vancouver on the road.

The game was the second for Milwaukee during a season-ending 13-game stretch in which it plays only twice against teams with winning records (Portland and Charlotte). The Bucks have two games left against the Orlando Magic, whom they trail by 1 1/2 games for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

Jeff McInnis scored a career-high 20 points for the Clippers, who have lost 37 of 41 and have four losing streaks of nine or more games this season.

The Clippers have the league's worst record, 14-59. The Chicago Bulls are 14-57.

The Bucks, who led 47-42 at halftime, broke the game open with an 18-7 run that increased their lead to 69-53 with 4:10 left in the third quarter. Allen scored 11 points during a four-minute span, including a free throw after a technical foul on Clippers interim coach Jim Todd.

Tim Thomas extended the margin to 91-71 with a dunk and two free throws with 6:14 remaining, and the Clippers got no closer than 12 points.

Pete Chilcutt's 18-footer gave the Clippers the lead for the last time, 29-28, with 7:05 left in the first half. The Bucks took their biggest lead of the half, 39-31, on a jumper by Glenn Robinson, a driving layup by San Cassell and a slam dunk by Ray Allen with three minutes left in the second quarter.

Notes: McInnis, who signed with Los Angeles six weeks ago after stints with Denver and Washington, was named the CBA's most valuable player on Thursday. He averaged 19.7 points and 7.8 assists in 41 games with the Quad City Thunder. ... Tyrone Nesby started at small forward for the Clippers and had 17 points in 43 minutes. ... The Bucks, who had the worst February in the franchise's 32-year history with a 3-9 record, finished March at 6-8.
