VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Sergei Berezin scored a pair of third-period goals to give the Toronto Maple Leafs a 3-1 exhibition victory over the winless Vancouver Canucks.

Berezin pounced on a rebound of Terran Sandwith's point shot 8:35 into the final period and slipped it between Garth Snow's pads for his second preseason goal. Just under nine minutes later, Berezin whipped a wrist shot from the top of the right faceoff circle over Snow's glove.

Yanic Perreault, rumored to be on the trading block, had a power-play goal and two assists for Toronto, which had a 33-23 edge in shots.

Glenn Healy preserved the victory with key stops on Bill Muckalt and Markus Naslund in the final nine minutes.

Rookie Artem Chubarov had the lone goal for the Canucks, who wrapped up an 0-3 homestand. Rookie Steve Kariya, the younger brother of Anaheim superstar Paul Kariya, picked up an assist and has figured in six of Vancouver's eight preseason goals.
