TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Roy Lassiter had a goal and an assist as D.C. United tied a team record Friday night with its ninth straight victory, 2-1 over the Tampa Bay Mutiny.

Lassiter tied Stern John of the Columbus Crew for the league lead with his 17th goal in the 23rd minute. He also assisted on Jaime Moreno's goal in the 43rd minute.

Raul Diaz Arce scored his 13th goal for Tampa Bay in the 72nd minute. He has scored goals in the last four games.

The Mutiny had its four-game winning streak snapped. D.C. United has dominated the series, winning 15 of 18 games.

Lassiter stole an errant pass by Steve Ralston, made a nifty move on Joseph Addo and beat goalkeeper Scott Garlick with a shot from 12 yards. Lassiter has 35 goals and 17 assists.

D.C. United opened without Eddie Pope, Ben Olsen and Richie Williams, who played Wednesday with the U.S. national team against Jamaica. Only Olsen played Friday, entering the game in the 64th minute.

United goalkeeper Tom Presthus also missed the match with a right ankle sprain and was replaced by Mark Simpson
