FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- Brian Kamler's goal in the fourth round of the shootout gave the Miami Fusion a 2-1 victory over the New England Revolution on Saturday night.

Paulo Dos Santos was the Revolution's final chance at tying the shootout, but his shot went left, giving the Fusion a 3-2 advantage in the shootout.

Dos Santos' errant shot culminated a bizarre shootout in which the Revolution blew a two-goal lead and backup goalkeeper Jeff Causey was ejected by referee Tim Weyland for fouling Welton of the Fusion during his second-round attempt.

Causey, who replaced starter and New England head coach Walter Zenga with two minutes remaining in regulation for the shootout, was replaced by forward Joe-Max Moore.

Moore just could not stop the Fusion's next three shots, from Welton, Saul Martinez and Kamler.

Giovanni Savarese and Johnny Torres scored New England's shootout goals.

The victory snapped a four-game losing streak for the Fusion (11-17) and their 23 points moved them into fourth place in the MLS Eastern Conference. New England (10-18) is one point behind in the standings and the top four teams in each conference qualify for the playoffs.

A scoreless second half led to the fourth shootout in as many matches between the teams this season.

Miami took a 1-0 lead on the 29th minute, with Welton scored his seventh goal of the season. The lead lasted a minute as the Revolution tied it on Savarese's header from 6 yards.
