Alloa held by Stenhousemuir after letting two-goal lead slip

Alloa remain top of Scottish League One but they will reflect on a missed opportunity after letting a two-goal lead slip to draw 2-2 at bottom side Stenhousemuir.Fraser Kerr's own goal gave Alloa the perfect start and they were in full control after Jim Goodwin's strike early in the second half. But Goodwin went from hero to villain when he was sent off just minutes later and Willis Furtado's goal 11 minutes from time set up a grandstand finish.Alloa appeared set to hold on for all three points, only for Oli Shaw to net a stoppage-time equaliser for Stenhousemuir.Livingston were behind Alloa only on alphabetical order heading into the weekend but they slipped to third after an afternoon to forget at East Fife.Jamie Insall scored either side of Chris Kane's goal to put the hosts 3-0 up at the break and although Josh Mullin pulled one back for Livingston just before the hour mark, there was no way back. The 3-1 defeat was compounded by red cards to Michael Miller and Alan Lithgow in the dying minutes.Brechin took advantage of the slip-ups and moved up to second with a 2-1 victory over Peterhead.Rory McAllister gave Peterhead the lead but Ally Love levelled before Andy Jackson's strike six minutes from time gave Brechin all three points.Goals from Liam Dick and Craig Malcolm either side of half-time earned Stranraer a 2-0 win at Queen's Park, who had Darren Miller sent off in the early stages of the second half.Albion won by the same scoreline at 10-man Airdrie courtesy of first-half efforts from Paul Willis and Mark Ferry. Iain Russell was sent off for the hosts midway through the second period.

      Kilmarnock 0-0 Albion Rovers

Kilmarnock exited the Betfred Cup following a goalless draw against Albion Rovers at Rugby Park where the League One outfit won a bonus point with a 5-3 penalty shoot-out win.It was a jittery and disjointed performance from the Ladbrokes Premiership side who were more than matched by the composed visitors.Substitute Ross Stewart, skipper Michael Dunlop, Paul Willis, Kyle Turnbull and substitute Scott McBride scored from the spot for the Coatbridge men.Killie captain Steven Smith, Gary Dicker and Flo Bojaj scored their penalties but Josh Magennis had his effort saved by Rovers keeper Ross Stewart to leave Killie in second place with seven points - not enough to be one of the four second-placed qualifiers for the last-16 as Morton topped Group H.It was a poor effort all round from the Ayrshire men.Northern Ireland striker Magennis flashed a drive over the bar from edge of the box in the 13th minute but it was no whirlwind start.Rovers seemed to be hard done by in the 24th minute when Killie keeper Oliver Davies and defender Will Boyle collided into each other allowing Ryan Wallace to slip the ball into the empty net but referee Bobby Madden blew for a foul.Killie responded to a point as attacker Rory McKenzie sent a shot wide of the target before Souleymane Coulibaly headed a Smith corner past the far post but Albion, marshalled at the back by brothers Ross and Michael Dunlop, grew in confidence.Just before the hour-mark Coulibaly clipped the top of the bar with a shot on the turn from Smith's cut-back but moments later at the other end Oliver had to dive smartly to his left to turn a 20-yard drive from Mark Ferry past the post for a corner, which came to nothing. The home fans became increasingly agitated as the second-half progressed.A back-heel attempt from Coulibaly following a corner brought a save from Rovers keeper Ross Stewart before defender Miles Addison headed wide but there was to be no breakthrough.ends
