BOX SCORE
PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Ken Wregget was perfect against his former team and Sergei Fedorov and Brendan Shanahan each had a goal and an assist to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 exhibition victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Wregget, who played for Philadelphia from 1989-92, stopped all 19 shots he faced over the first 30 minutes as he battles for the backup job behind Chris Osgood. Manny Legace was beaten twice on 15 shots thereafter for Detroit, which is 3-0-1 in the preseason. Fedorov set up Martin Lapointe's power-play goal midway through the opening period, then scored 88 seconds into the third to stretch the lead to 4-0. Shanahan got his first exhibition goal 6:11 into the second period, just under eight minutes before assisting on rookie Toivo Suursoo's tally. Vyacheslav Kozlov added a shorthanded marker for Detroit, which rested Steve Yzerman and defensemen Chris Chelios, Steve Duchesne and Larry Murphy. Mark Recchi and Sandy McCarthy scored for the Flyers, who again were without ailing superstars Eric Lindros and John LeClair. They are 0-2 in the preseason.
