Answering Canada question


Pavel Bure
The Canucks couldn't afford to keep Pavel Bure.
This is the first NHL season of the century. The NHL has 30 teams and a big television contract to boot. But all is not perfect as Canadian teams still struggle for success -- both on the ice and in the budget. It looks like the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the best position to succeed in both departments, but no Canadian team has made the Stanley Cup finals since the Canucks in 1994.
