Chatman's shots help Chattanooga upset UNCG 87-85 in 2OT

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Rodney Chatman made a pair of free throws with 4.3 seconds left to lift Chattanooga over UNC Greensboro 87-85 in double overtime on Monday night.

Chatman drove to the basket in the final seconds and drew the blocking foul against Francis Alonso, who fouled out on the play. After Chatman's foul shots, UNCG inbounded to half court and Isaiah Miller had a look from six feet but it rimmed out.

Nat Dixon led the Mocs (8-15, 2-8 Southern) with a career-high 30 points and Chatman added 22.

Chattanooga gave away a six-point lead in the final 1:39 of regulation but rallied from a seven-point deficit in the final 34 seconds of the first overtime. Chatman had a steal during Chattanooga's full court press and made a 3-pointer from the right corner that glanced in off the edge of the glass to tie it at 75-all with 12.8 seconds left in the first overtime. Chatman was fouled but missed the free throw and UNCG failed to score in the final seconds.

Alonso led the Spartans (16-6, 7-2) with 20 points and Miller added 17. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak.
