Santa Clara rebounds in OT to beat Portland 69-63

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Keshawn Justice scored 17 points on Saturday night, including the first four points of overtime, and Santa Clara beat Portland 69-63 despite blowing an 11-point, second-half lead.

The Broncos (12-11, 4-5 West Coast Conference) led 48-37 with five minutes to go in regulation. Franklin Porter converted a 4-point play for the Pilots (7-17, 0-9), sparking a 19-8 run to close the half. Marcus Shaver Jr. capped the rally with back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 21 seconds to force overtime.

Santa Clara opened overtime on a 6-0 run and stretched the lead to 67-58 while Portland made just one of its first seven field-goal attempts during the extra period.

Trey Wertz added 15 points for the Broncos, who missed their first seven shots of the game and trailed by nine in the middle of the first half. Guglielmo Caruso had 12 points and nine rebounds and Josh Martin grabbed 12 boards.

Shaver had 15 points and Jojo Walker scored 13 to lead the Pilots.
