Garcia leads Stony Brook over New Hampshire 66-64

DURHAM, N.H. -- Andrew Garcia had 15 points and 10 rebounds off the bench to lift Stony Brook to a 66-64 win over New Hampshire on Saturday.

Garcia made two free throws to give Stony Brook a 65-62 lead with 1:11 remaining. Later, Jaron Cornish made on free throw and the Seawolves led 66-62. UNH's Chris Lester made a layup to cut it to 66-64 with 8 seconds left, Cornish missed two free throws and Jordan Reed missed a 3-pointer that would have given New Hampshire the win.

Akwasi Yeboah had 15 points for Stony Brook (21-5, 9-2 America East Conference), which earned its fourth straight victory. Jules Moor added 10 points. Cornish had 10 points and seven rebounds for the visitors.

Reed had 17 points for the Wildcats (3-22, 1-11), whose losing streak stretched to 10 games. Josh Hopkins added 13 points and six rebounds. Chris Lester had 13 points.

The Seawolves improved to 2-0 against the Wildcats this season. Stony Brook defeated New Hampshire 62-44 on Jan. 12.

Stony Brook faces Albany at home on Thursday. New Hampshire faces Hartford at home on Thursday.
