Williams scores 20, Cleveland State upends Youngstown State

CLEVELAND -- Rashad Williams scored 20 points, including 6 of 8 3-pointers, and Cleveland State picked up its first Horizon League win of the season, a 72-62 victory over Youngstown State on Saturday night.

Tyree Appleby and Jaalam Hill scored 16 points each for the Vikings. Appleby had eight assists and Hill added six rebounds. Cleveland State (6-16, 1-8) had 19 assists on 26 field goals. The Vikings made 11 of 26 3-pointers (42 percent) and shot 46 percent overall.

Backup guard Devin Morgan led Youngstown State (6-16, 2-7) with 17 points and was 5 of 13 from beyond the arc. Naz Bohannon had a strong double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Youngstown State shot 31 percent overall, 25 percent on 3-pointers (9 for 36). The Penguins' poor shooting led to a 24-6 advantage in offensive rebounding, 51-34 in total rebounds. The Penguins led 26-9 in second chance points and they scored more than half their points (34) off the bench.
