    Wrexham 2-3 Eastleigh

    Ben Strevens' late header clinched Eastleigh a 3-2 win at Wrexham and their sixth league victory of the season.Midfielder Strevens headed home Andy Drury's cross in the 86th minute to inflict on Wrexham their first home league defeat of the season after the home side had fought back from two goals down.Jai Reason gave Eastleigh a 20th-minute lead with a fine low shot from outside the penalty area into the bottom corner and Drury's spectacular strike from similar distance doubled the visitors' advantage five minutes before the break.Wrexham reduced the deficit in the 54th minute when striker Wes York drilled home an angled shot and the Dragons levelled the scores with 15 minutes left thanks to defender Sean Newton's header.But Eastleigh clinched all three points when Drury crossed for Strevens to head home into the top corner from 12 yards and Wrexham's misery was compounded when defender Jamal Fyfield was sent off for a second bookable offence in the last minute. ends

      Port storm into third round

      Micah Evans' second-half strike secured Southport's place in the FA Cup third round for the first time in 16 years after a 2-1 victory over 10-man Eastleigh.Southport, quarter-finalists in 1931, initially fell behind but Dean Beckwith's red card just after half-time, with the scores at 1-1, proved costly for Eastleigh as Evans fired home the winner with 19 minutes remaining.After penalty appeals for both sides early on, Eastleigh made the breakthrough five minutes before the break.Southport keeper David Raya Martin raced out of his penalty area only to be outpaced by Craig McAllister, whose square ball was tapped home by James Constable.But the lead lasted only five minutes as in first-half injury time Richard Brodie drew the home side level with a diving header from close range.The Spitfires then had Beckwith sent off for bringing down Mitchell Austin in what the referee adjudged to be a goal-scoring position.And the Sandgrounders made the breakthrough on 71 minutes with Evans smashing home from 15 yards after the post had saved the visitors.Evans should have doubled his tally a minute later but he blazed over from close range and Ben Strevens almost made him pay but the Eastleigh striker's header hit the post late on.

        Strevens sends Spitfires through

        Ben Strevens struck in the 90th minute to earn Eastleigh a dramatic 2-1 FA Cup first-round victory over Lincoln at Ten Acres.Delano Sam-Yorke had cancelled out Craig McAllister's early goal with 17 minutes to go, but the hosts edged the all non-league affair thanks to Strevens' late strike.Eastleigh had started the first half strongly and nearly went 1-0 up after just two minutes when McAllister headed onto the bar from Jai Reason's corner.Reason nearly put the home side ahead five minutes later too, only to be denied by a fantastic save from Lincoln keeper Paul Farman.The Spitfires got their reward nine minutes in when Dan Spence curled a delightful cross onto the head of McAllister, who powered home from eight yards.The home side had several chances to double their advantage before the break, but were unable to convert against an Imps side that barely threatened.Lincoln came out stronger in the second half and should have been level within five minutes, only for Jordan Burrow to blaze over from five yards out following Hamza Bencherif's cut-back.Tom Miller went closest to levelling the tie for the visitors, but the right-back's downward header was superbly saved by Ross Flitney on the hour mark.Sam-Yorke replaced Burrow and had an immediate impact, breaking the offside trap and slotting in the equaliser.Connor Robinson could have won it late on for Lincoln, but he fired Sean Newton's inch-perfect cross wide before Strevens tucked away Ben Wright's cut-back from 12 yards to seal the win for the home side.
