PHOENIX (Ticker) -- Matt Stairs, Mario Encarnacion and Jorge Velandia all homered and Gil Heredia and three relievers combined on a two-hitter, giving the Oakland Athletics a 6-0 victory over a split squad of Milwaukee Brewers in a Cactus League game.

Encarnacion and Velandia both hit their second homers of the spring, and Stairs' roundtripper was his first. Heredia struck out six and gave up just two hits over five innings to improve to 3-0 this spring. Jason Isringhausen walked one and struck out one in one inning, Jeff Tam pitched two perfect innings and Jon Ratlif struck out two without letting a batter on base in the ninth.

Brewers reliever Kevin Foster gave up one hit and two runs, walked three and struck out one in one-third of an inning to take the loss.

Eric Ludwick gave up the other four Oakland runs in the eighth. In his one inning he allowed three hits, four runs and a walk.
