PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers shoot for their ninth victory in 10 games tonight when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Blazers are 3 1/2 games behind the first-place Los Angeles Lakers (30-5) for the best record in the NBA. The Lakers visit Milwaukee tonight. The Cavaliers are aiming for their season-high fourth straight win after Monday's 111-106 home triumph against the Los Angeles Clippers. Bobby Sura scored 20 points and Brevin Knight handed out 14 assists and hit crucial free throws down the stretch as the Cavaliers rallied for the win in the fourth quarter. Cleveland erased an eight-point deficit in the final period for its first three-game winning streak since November 27-December 1. Cleveland had lost 10 of 11 before its recent run, but handed the Blazers a 103-100 loss at Gund Arena on November 23. Shawn Kemp had 28 points and 10 rebounds in that contest as the Cavs blew a 20-point lead before pulling it out down the stretch.
