Rushed 39 times for 409 yards and five touchdowns in Sacramento State's 41-20 win over Idaho State.
Elroy Brown
Wayne State
Rushed for a school-record 335 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead Wayne State to a 70-21 win over Minnesota-Morris. His 237 yards in the first half broke the previous record of 231, held by Marcus Bishop.
David Dinkins
Morehead State
Ran for five touchdowns and passed for two more in a 56-21 win over Kentucky Wesleyan. Dinkins accounted for 383 yards of offense, running for 235 and passing for 148.
Chris Redman
Louisville
Became the first Division I-A quarterback to complete 1,000 passes in a career in Louisville's 23-13 win over Cincinnati. Redman was 32-of-49 for 367 yards, becoming the second I-A QB to surpass 12,000 yards passing.
RECORD-SETTERS  
Prentice makes perfect Travis Prentice rushed for a school-record 376 yards and scored three times to break Ricky Williams' major-college records for points and touchdowns in Miami of Ohio's 32-23 victory over Akron. Prentice has 76 career touchdowns, one more than Williams, and has scored 456 points, surpassing Williams' total by four points.
Insley in sync Nevada's Trevor Insley caught 14 passes for 254 yards, becoming the NCAA career leader in receiving yardage with 4,660, in a 42-33 loss to Idaho.
Barnette on target Jamie Barnette was 23-of-37 for 324 yards and two touchdowns, giving him an Atlantic Coast Conference-record 59 TD passes, in North Carolina State's 30-17 victory over Maryland.
Back-to-back bursts R.J. Bowers became the first NCAA Division III player to rush for 2,000 yards in consecutive seasons as Grove City defeated Muhlenberg 31-24. Bowers has 2,098 this season after gaining 2,283 last season.
UPSET SPECIAL  
First time for everything UAB got its first victory ever over a ranked opponent as freshman Thomas Cox ran for two second-half touchdowns and threw for one to lead the Blazers to a 36-17 victory over No. 17 East Carolina. East Carolina, averaging 172 yards a game on the ground, managed only 9 yards on 32 rushes.
STREAKING  
Welcome to a winning season Oregon State snapped a 28-year run of losing seasons with its 17-7 win over Cal. The win gave the Beavers six victories this season, breaking their NCAA Division I-A record streak that began with the 1971 season. The victory also made Oregon State eligible for its first bowl game since the 1965 Rose Bowl.
RIVALRY WATCH  
Hail to the chief Air Force held Army, the nation's top rushing offense at 320 yards per game, to just 90 yards on the ground in a 28-0 victory. The victory gave Air Force the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, which goes to the service academy with the best record in their head-to-head matchups, for the third straight year and 11th time in the past 13 seasons.
