BOX SCORE
DENVER (Ticker) -- Sean O'Donnell scored 1:47 into overtime to lift the Los Angeles Kings to a 4-3 exhibition victory over the Colorado Avalanche. O'Donnell found the puck off of a goalmouth scramble and shot it inside the left post past Stephane Fiset for the game-winner. Milan Hejduk tied the game for the Avalanche with 36 seconds remaining in regulation. It was Hejduk's fifth goal of the preseason. Colorado's Patrick Roy looked solid in his preseason debut. Roy, who was sidelined with a hip injury, played two periods, turning aside 22 of 24 shots. "I was very happy with my performance tonight," Roy said. "Two cheesy goals given up, the second hit the referee and the guy made a great move. After 40 minutes, I could have kept going." Luc Robitaille's scored a power-play goal and Donald Audette and Bryan Smolinski each had two assists for Los Angeles, which improved its preseason record to 4-2-1. Jeff Odgers scored two goals and rookie Dan Hinote added two assists for the Avalanche, who suffered their sixth loss in eight exhibition games.
