INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Tonight's game between the Washington
Mystics and Indiana Fever has been postponed. Flight cancellations due to inclement weather caused the Mystics' travel problems, forcing the contest to be postponed and rescheduled for August 3 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Washington, which was 6-25 on the road over the last two seasons, concludes a three-game road trip Saturday at Utah. Chamique Holdsclaw drilled an 18-foot jumper with 10 seconds left as Washington won for the third time in four outings with Tuesday's 57-56 triumph at New York. Last season's Rookie of the Year, Holdsclaw finished with 23 points on 10-of-21 shooting with 12 rebounds. Nikki McCray scored nine points, albeit on 4-of-12 shooting, and rookie Tausha Mills added seven off the bench for the Mystics, who are easily off to their best start in franchise history. The Mystics have won consecutive road games on two occasions, but not since August 2-7 of last season. A win tonight will give them their second-longest winning streak in team history and their first three-game run since taking six in a row from August 2-14 of last year. Indiana suffered its third straight loss Monday with an 83-70 setback to Cleveland. Kara Wolters poured in 17 points, Stephanie McCarty added 14 and rookie Danielle McCulley 12 for the Fever, who have dropped two in a row at home and fell to 1-3 at Conseco Fieldhouse. "They were fatigued," Fever coach Anne Donovan said. "It's the third game in four days. But it is a long season and we've got to get better. With this kind of loss, it should send a real message." Indiana shot 45 percent (21-of-47) from the field but was only 5-of-15 from beyond the arc overall and was outscored, 45-36, in the second half.
