Fifers close on play-off places
East Fife moved within four points of the play-offs after seeing off East Stirling 2-1 at the Bayview Stadium. The hosts took the lead after 43 minutes when forward Sean Dickson found the top corner with a brilliant long-range strike. Midfielder Maxwell Wright came close to an equaliser for Stirling but his header was well-held by goalkeeper Allan Fleming. The Fifers extended their advantage in the 67th minute when an unnamed trialist teed-up Dickson to fire home from distance.Substitute William Vidler set-up a nervy finish when he bundled in David McKenna's cross after 89 minutes, but that was as good as it got for the visitors.
