2016/2017 German Bundesliga
Borussia Dortmund held at home by Cologne
Borussia Dortmund failed to take a firm grip on third place as they were held to a goalless home draw by Cologne.
Hoffenheim, two points behind them in fourth, can take advantage with victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday, although the point did guarantee a top-four finish for Dortmund.
The draw also extended their unbeaten record at home to 36 games.
Dortmund had scored in their previous 21 games but struggled to break down a defensively minded Cologne side as they struggled to find the required energy after their midweek DFB Pokal win over Bayern Munich.
