Lille held to goalless draw by Clermont Foot in Ligue 1

Lille were held to a 0-0 draw away to Clermont Foot in Ligue 1 on Sunday, where they had goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier to thank for keeping the home side at bay.

The draw means Lille are still in fourth place on 27 points, but lose ground to the top three who all won this weekend, with Paris Saint-Germain leading on 36 points, Nice second on 32 and Monaco on 30.

After weathering the early pressure from the visitors, it was Clermont who created the best chances, but Chevalier pulled off a string of fine saves, while Jim Allevinah hit the post from a difficult angle in the 50th minute.

Allevinah also had an attempt saved by Chevalier in the 36th minute, and unable to find a way past the keeper, Clermont are now without a win in their last four games.

Lille stretch their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to nine games.

Clermont remain second from bottom on 11 points.
