Brest moved up to third place on the Ligue 1 table with a 2-0 home win over Montpellier on Sunday, their fourth consecutive league victory.

Brest have 34 points, which takes them above Monaco who lost 3-1 to Reims on Saturday and are just one point behind Nice. Montpellier remain 12th on 18 points.

After dominating the opening half, the home side were unable to find the breakthrough, but three minutes after the interval, Brest finally made the pressure count when Hugo Magnetti fired his shot in off the post from inside the six-yard box.

After spurning plenty of chances to extend their lead, Brest wrapped up the win in the third minute of added time when Jeremy Le Douaron scored his fourth goal of the season.

Brest's win stretches their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to seven games, after they had gone five games without a win prior to the turnaround in form.
