Davenport, Martin help Memphis rally to 70-62 comeback

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Jeremiah Martin scored a career-high 26 points, Kyvon Davenport added 13 and Memphis defeated Little Rock 70-62 on Tuesday night, taking advantage at the foul line where the Tigers made 16 of 23.

Little Rock matched Memphis in field goals made (23), and held a 31-28 edge in rebounds and blocked five shots. But the Trojans (0-2) were called for 23 fouls and Memphis made enough free throws for the win. Martin was 8 of 11 at the line.

The Tigers (1-1) trailed 32-27 at the half and it took until the 7:33 mark of the second half before they caught up, 51-51, on a Davenport 3-pointer. Davenport scored five points -- a jumper and a 3 -- extending the lead to 58-53. Martin followed with a 3-pointer that gave Memphis an eight-point lead with 3:20 left, and Malik Rhodes and Martin made four free throws to close it out.

Freshman Jaizec Lottie scored 12, Camron Reedus 11 and reserve Anthony Black 10 for Little Rock.
