Miller scores 31 to carry UNC-Greensboro over Mercer 72-63

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Isaiah Miller had a career-high 31 points and school record nine steals and UNC Greensboro topped Mercer 72-63 on Wednesday night.

James Dickey had 12 rebounds for the Spartans (12-3, 2-0 Southern Conference), who earned their fourth consecutive victory.

Ethan Stair had 18 points and six rebounds for the Bears (6-9, 0-2). Djordje Dimitrijevic added 17 points.

Miller opened the scoring with a layup to start a 7-0 run and the Spartans led 43-25 at the half as Miller scored on a dunk and a floater in the lane in the final minute. Mercer shot 52% in the first half but had 14 turnovers.

The Bears rallied in the second half and got within 60-57 on a Stair jumper with 5 1/2 minutes to play but Miller scored consecutive baskets and in the final minute Malik Massey made four free throws.

Mercer had three turnovers in the final three minutes, finishing with 24 turnovers UNCG turned into 39 points.
