Ravens to stay with Jackson over healthy Flacco

Lamar Jackson, who started four games while Joe Flacco was recovering from a hip injury, will remain the starting QB for the Ravens now that Flacco is healthy.

Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer

The Ravens are officially Lamar Jackson's team. Jackson was named the starting quarterback and Joe Flacco will serve as the backup. This decision is based on the fact that Baltimore believes Jackson gives the team the best chance to win and reach the playoffs. Jackson gives the Ravens a spark and an offensive identity.

Ravens' Flacco expected to be active vs. Bucs

Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco is expected to be active against the Buccaneers on Sunday, but John Harbaugh wouldn't share any info on how he'll be used other than saying he'll be part of the game plan if that's the case.

Jamison Hensley ESPN Staff Writer

John Harbaugh on Joe Flacco's status: "I think it stands to reason that if Joe is ready to go, he'll be part of the game plan. He's too good of a player not to be. We'll just figure that out as we go this week to what degree how it works. Everybody will know going in — perhaps except everybody outside. We'll see unless I change my mind on that. I'm excited. If we get Joe back, it's good because it's another good player."

Ravens RB Gus Edwards has carried the ball once while inside the opponent's 8 yard line this season.
