Champ Bailey, who played 10 seasons with the Denver Broncos, was selected Monday for the team's Ring of Fame. He will be the 33rd player, coach or team executive to be included in the Broncos' Ring of Fame. Broncos coach Vic Fangio spoke for many after the team's practice Monday when he called Bailey's selection "a no brainer." Bailey and Broncos owner Pat Bowlen will also be enshrined together this August in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Bailey will be honored at halftime of the Broncos' Oct. 13 game against the Tennessee Titans. He will also receive his Hall of Fame ring that day.

Now that the Indianapolis Colts have signed Chad Kelly, three former Denver Broncos draft picks at quarterback over the last five years are now on rosters elsewhere. Kelly was the Broncos' seventh-round pick in 2017. Paxton Lynch, now with the Seattle Seahawks, was Denver's first-round pick in 2016 and Trevor Siemian, a seventh-round pick in 2015, is with the New York Jets. Kelly played just one regular-season snap for the Broncos -- a kneel-down this past season -- and Lynch made just four starts for the Broncos. The Broncos used their fourth draft pick on a quarterback in the last five drafts last month when they selected Drew Lock in the second round -- 41st overall.

Broncos' Flacco: It's not my job to groom Lock

Joe Flacco says his job description doesn't include grooming his successor, so he suggests rookie Drew Lock sit back, watch him work and ask plenty of questions -- of offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello.

The Broncos wrapped up their three-day rookie minicamp Sunday and first-round pick (20th overall) Noah Fant showed why the Broncos figure to quickly work him into the offense. The rookies were given just a sliver of the playbook, but Fant's speed and quickness at the top of routes was evident.

Drew Lock, Broncos will need to be patient

The Broncos got their first look at second-round quarterback Drew Lock in his new colors during the team's rookie minicamp that began Friday.

Broncos coach Vic Fangio also said after Friday's practice in the team's rookie minicamp that he believed it was important to do more on-field work with the new arrivals than the Broncos have done with the rookie class in their orientations in recent years. The rookies will join the Broncos veterans in workouts for the first time on Monday in the next set of the team's OTAs and Fangio said he believed it wouldn't have been the right thing to do if the rookies joined those workouts without doing some preliminary on-field work first. Fangio said: “That's not fair to them nor fair to the veterans … I think any time you can have practice and take advantage of that and do a better job of preparing your players and teaching them, you should take advantage of that.''

After Friday's practice in the Broncos' rookie minicamp, second-round pick Dalton Risner said he was initially lining up at left guard in the offensive line. However, coach Vic Fangio said Risner should be ready for more in the weeks ahead as Fangio offered the rookie, who is expected to be in the starting lineup somewhere when the regular season begins, will also see time at tackle, right guard and center as the Broncos move through their OTAs, their June minicamp and in training camp.

Broncos have their rookies in for a minicamp that will run through Sunday. And after several rookie-only minicamps in recent years when the focus was mostly on classroom-work, coach Vic Fangio has this year's group back on the field for far more extensive practices. They will have practices of just over 90 minutes Friday, Saturday and Sunday with plenty of individual work with their new position coaches. They have 47 rookies or "year 1'' players (players who were on a practice squad last year) on site, including all of their draft picks and 20 tryout players.
