Fournette happy to have 'clean start' with Jags

Leonard Fournette, who missed seven games in 2018 because of injuries and was suspended for another, believes he has had a successful reboot this offseason and is happy to have "a clean start" with the Jaguars.

Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette said Friday that he used this offseason to essentially re-boot himself and start over. Admitted he made some mistakes -- meaning his arrest for driving with a suspended license -- but said he doesn't feel he has to prove to the team that they can rely on him because "everybody has a bad year." Fournette also said he's going to look forward and not back toward 2018. "It's a new year," he said. "We have a new team. We're focused and we have new players. It's a new year for us. So it's a new everything. It's a clean start for a lot of us guys. We're not focused on the past. The past's the past. Some things I did, whether it was offseason and I admitted to, yeah I was wrong. We moved on. We're in a good place right now.

Marrone: Jags here to support Telvin Smith

A day after Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith announced he would sit out the 2019 season because he needs to take time off for his family and his health, coach Doug Marrone said he'd leave the door open for him to return if he changes his mind.

Jaguars coach Doug Marrone said first-round pick Josh Allen showed up in great shape for the team's rookie minicamp. Marrone says they're intrigued with how he fits in the defense. "There's a lot of things we can do," Marrone said. "We just got him here. He'll play both up (at linebacker), play down (at defensive end). We'll see how he beat fits our team."
