Bortles a perfect fit for Rams' system (1:51)

Blake Bortles' decision to sign with the Rams provides an experienced backup to QB Jared Goff. Bortles takes over for unrestricted free agent Sean Mannion, who struggled throughout the preseason last year, creating concern if he ever needed to be inserted for Goff. The third overall pick in 2014, Bortles passed for 103 touchdowns, with 75 interceptions, in five seasons in Jacksonville. He signed a one-year deal.

Former Rams LB Mark Barron has agreed on a two-year deal worth $12 million with the Steelers, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Rams released Barron and saved $6.33 million in their salary cap. They tracked Barron's market in free agency, but now the veteran LB has moved on. Second-year pro Micah Kiser is penciled in as a starter in Barron's place, but Rams will monitor FA market and look to build depth at position in the draft.

The NFL announced top 25 performance-based pay distributions. The performance-based pay program is collectively-bargained benefit that compensates players based on playing time and salary level. Rams RG Austin Blythe (7th round in 2016) ranked second on the list and earned $380,060. Rams LB Cory Littleton (UDFA in 2016) ranked fifth and earned $371,379. Blythe and Littleton both started every game in 2018.

Source: OL Saffold agrees to deal with Titans

The longest-tenured Los Angeles Ram is heading to the Tennessee Titans. Offensive lineman Rodger Saffold intends to sign a four-year, $44 million deal that includes $22.5 million guaranteed with the Titans.

LG Rodger Saffold intends to sign a four-year, $44-milllion deal, with $22.5 million guaranteed, with the Titans, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Saffold was the Rams' longest-tenured player after they selected him in the second round of the 2010 draft. Rams GM Les Snead said they expected Saffold to be out of their price range with his solid play over the last couple of seasons. Joe Noteboom, who the Rams selected in the third round from TCU last year, is the frontrunner to take over at the position.

Rams GM Les Snead said the team is in the process of putting a second-round tender on RFA LB Cory Littleton and original round tenders will be used on RB Malcolm and DB Blake Countess. Still in process of deciding tender for CB Troy Hill.

Rams GM Les Snead said Tuesday that the team currently projects that LG Rodger Saffold and DT Ndamukong Suh will fall outside of the team's budget in free agency. If that is indeed the case, Joe Noteboom will be frontrunner to step into Saffold's spot and Michael Brockers' flexibility provides options on the defensive line.

The Rams introduced S Eric Weddle today. Weddle initially planned to visit several teams, then make LA and the Rams his last stop. The Rams convinced Weddle to visit them first. He spent several hours talking with Sean McVay, and decided he would be staying in LA. No other visits necessary.

S Lamarcus Joyner plans to sign a four-year deal with the Oakland Raiders in free agency, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Joyner played last season on the franchise tag and earned $11.28 million. Last Friday the Rams signed veteran S Eric Weddle, who is expected to start in Joyner's place.

Lamarcus Joyner is an upgrade for the Raiders at the safety position. Range in the post, plus the coverage ability to drop down over the slot. Coverage skills. And I like the fit for Joyner in Paul Guenther's defensive scheme.
