TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Sammy Sosa hit his first homer of the spring and Andy Fox capped a four-run, two-out rally in the ninth inning with a run-scoring single as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Chicago Cubs 9-8 Tuesday.

Sammy Sosa homered in a five-run fifth, a drive off the left-field scoreboard at Electric Park estimated at 425 feet. It helped the Cubs overcome a 3-0 deficit.

Danny Klassen's bloop double to short center with the bases loaded tied the game in the ninth and Luis Ordaz came around with the tying run as center fielder Corey Patterson held the ball.

Shane Andrews also homered in the fifth for the Cubs, who lost for the first time in four games this spring. Tarrik Brock singled in a run in the fifth, and Eric Young's two-run double made it 5-3.

Matt Williams hit a two-run homer off starter Jon Lieber leading off the fourth, and Lenny Harris added a sacrifice fly in the fifth.

Lieber went four innings in his second spring start, giving up two runs and three hits. Diamondbacks starter Todd Stottlemyre pitched two scoreless innings in his second spring start.

Julio Zuleta's two-run single put the Cubs ahead 7-3 in the seventh.
