TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Jeff Manto singled home the winning run with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning, lifting a split-squad of Colorado Rockies to a 9-8 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jose Fernandez belted a two-run homer with one out in the top of the ninth for Milwaukee to send the game into extra innings.

Manto finished with two hits and newly acquired Jeffrey Hammonds had two hits and an RBI for the Rockies, who banged out 19 hits and overcame a 5-0 deficit.

Kevin Barker hit a third-inning grand slam and knocked in five runs for Milwaukee.

Acquired in an offseason trade from St. Louis, Manny Aybar started for the Rockies and was roughed up for five runs and six hits in three innings.

Jimmy Haynes, also acquired in an offseason deal, started for the Brewers and gave up three runs -- one earned -- and four hits in three innings.
