Yankees slugger Aaron Judge was asked Monday on The Michael Kay Show about advice he'd give Duke hoops star Zion Williamson, if Williamson were drafted by the Knicks this summer: "Go out there, have fun. Play hard for the city, because the city's going to see that, and if you're playing hard and giving 110 Pete net, they're going to have your back. We've got great fans in New York and if he's going out there doing his job, he's going to put on a show for everybody."

Ex-Knick and NYU star Cal Ramsey has died. Ramsay was a Knicks player, broadcaster and, more recently, a member of the community relations team. The 81-year-old was a constant presence at Madison Square Garden on game nights and a true gentleman. "He will be greatly missed," Knicks owner James Dolan said in a statement.

Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, in conjunction with the release of a paperback edition of his autobiography, ‘Earl The Pearl Monroe: My Story', answered a few questions about the Knicks for ESPN.com. Here's the Hall of Famer on what he'd like readers to take away from his autobiography: “I'd like the reader to have an understanding of where I've come from, where I've been and how that has shaped me into the person I am today. This book will give them a more keener sense of me, along with some history and stories about the game we love, basketball.”

Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, in conjunction with the release of a paperback edition of his autobiography, ‘Earl The Pearl Monroe: My Story', answered a few questions about the Knicks for ESPN.com. Here's the Hall of Famer on the future outlook for the Knicks: “I think New York is an attractive destination for free agents. Given its history of only making the playoffs three times since 2001, the franchise as well as its fans and the city is starved for a resurrection. There are three things that would entice the a free agent. 1) The draft pick the team gets; 2) The other free agents and players you would be playing with; 3) The length of time it will take for the team to become a competitor. As a free agent coming to New York you realize that if you can bring a championship to Madison Square Garden, you will be immortalized in this city.”

Earl “The Pearl” Monroe, in conjunction with the release of a paperback edition of his autobiography, ‘Earl The Pearl Monroe: My Story', answered a few questions about the Knicks for ESPN.com. Here's the Hall of Famer on the trade of Kristaps Porzingis: “I think the Knicks felt that Porzingis was not interested in signing or being apart of the rebuilding of the franchise. If that were the case I think they were wise to deal him, especially when winning wasn't a priority. They can evaluate the players they have and determine who fits into their plans for the future…. Dennis Smith gives the depth at the point guard and DeAndre Jordan could play a great roll in the development of Mitchell Robinson, if he decides to stay in New York.”

Kevin Knox is shooting 37% on the season but has hit 47% of his shots, including 52% of his 3s, in the last 6 games. He's averaging 15.7 points in that span. David Fizdale: "Within a tough season you're just looking for him to have those moments of, where you go, ‘OK, I see it.' And (Monday, when Knox had 27 points in a loss), I really felt like he did some things that you go, ‘Ok, if he can just put this together consistently we've got something here.' And that's really what we're working for is getting him to a place where he's decisive, he's consistent and he knows who he is in this league."

David Fizdale said Willis Reed, the leader on the Knicks last two title-winning teams (1970 and 1973), texts him encouragement. He also hears from Bernard King, a Knicks great who has helped mentor rookie Kevin Knox. "He really wants Kevin to do well. He's really been a good mentor to Kevin and just keeping him positive, keeping him focused on the right things, giving him good advice about playing that position," Fizdale said.

Mitchell Robinson, 20, was casually shooting threes after Thursday's practice. When asked about it by a reporter afterward, Robinson said that he eventually plans to shoot threes in games. “I can shoot it a little bit. I'm continuing to work on it. I'll be out there shooting threes a little bit. Just continue to work.” Robinson, the Knicks' 2018 second-round pick, shot 137 threes in high school (about 25 percent of his attempts) in 2017-18, his last year of organized basketball, per Maxpreps.com.
