PHOENIX (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics hope to conclude a perfect three-game road trip and continue their surge towards the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference tonight when they visit the Phoenix Suns.
The Celtics' offense has put up impressive numbers during the streak, hitting the century mark in points each time. They began their trip with a 114-90 win at Atlanta on Friday before a 104-99 triumph the next night against Dallas. Antoine Walker, who leads the team with a 21.0-point scoring average, has scored at least 25 points in each of the last three games, including 30 against the Hawks. Boston defeated Phoenix in the only other meeting between the teams this season, 91-88 on January 28. The win snapped the Celtics' three-game losing streak in the series. Phoenix has won three in a row and 15 of its last 19 games, including a 99-82 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. The Suns are one game ahead of San Antonio for fourth place in the Western Conference. Jason Kidd fell one rebound shy of his sixth triple-double of the season and committed just one turnover on Sunday. He was only 4-of-11 from the field for 15 points, but handed out 14 assists and grabbed nine boards. Cliff Robinson scored 25 points in the win and is averaging 26.3 points over his last four games for the Suns, who have won 12 of their last 13 games at home.
