CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers seek to end a six-game losing streak tonight when they battle the struggling Houston Rockets, who will also be looking to stop an extended losing skid.
Lamond Murray scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds while Wesley Person added 13 points for Cleveland, which shot 36 percent (27-of-76) and committed 19 turnovers in its latest defeat. While the Cavaliers have hit a wall, Bob Sura has been shooting mostly bricks. Sura, who started the season on fire, has slumped since missing 10 games last month with a sore big toe. In the last five contests, he has hit just 15-of-58 from the field, including 3-of-22 from behind the arc. Houston also has struggled mightily this season and currently is mired in a seven-game losing streak. The Rockets were the latest victims of Vince Carter's last-second heroics in a 100-98 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. With the game on the line, Carter blew past Rockets forward Shandon Anderson and threw down a dunk with under two seconds left. Houston finishes its five-game road trip with tonight's contest and has posted only one victory in the last 12 away from the Compaq Center. In the only meeting this season between the clubs, the Rockets used a 30-point final quarter to defeat the Rockets, 91-83, in Houston on March 8.
