CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Orlando Magic have an opportunity to end their four-game road trip on a high note tonight when they face the lowly Chicago Bulls.
Orlando missed out on a chance to take control of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and remain tied with Milwaukee with 15 games remaining. The Magic have only win in their last nine games on the road. Overall this season, Orlando is just 13-22 away from TD Waterhouse Center. Darrell Armstrong scored 17 points to lead six players in double figures as Orlando came within seconds of its best defensive performance in franchise history with a 103-67 rout of Chicago on March 8. The previous best came in a 78-66 thumping of Dallas in February 1997. Ever since the departure of Michael Jordan, the Magic have dominated the series between the clubs. They have won six straight and seven of the last nine since Chicago had won seven previous games during the 1996-97 and 1997-98 campaigns. The Bulls lost their sixth straight, 101-88, at Washington on Sunday. Rookie Elton Brand scored 24 points for Chicago, which has one victory in its last 14 games and has lost 10 straight road games.
