KANATA, Ontario (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues, in a
mini-slump, seek only their second win in five games when they
battle the Ottawa Senators tonight.
Considered to have one of the strongest offenses in the NHL, the Blues have one goal in three of their last four games. Pierre Turgeon, who scored the Blues' only goal on Saturday, is fifth in the league with 55 points and tops the club with 23 goals and 32 assists. Ottawa is winless in its last three games but has played to a pair of ties during the stretch, including Monday's 3-3 deadlock at Toronto in which the Senators had a 2-0 lead. The Senators kept pace with the Leafs in the Northwest Division, remaining five points back while holding the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference with 58 points. A win tonight will leapfrog them past Philadelphia for the fourth spot. Since allowing seven goals at Buffalo on January 8, Ottawa has not given up more than three in a game over the last seven games. This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams. St. Louis has won its last three trips to Ottawa.
