NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- The Nashville Predators, who
have been working overtime lately, look for their third
consecutive tonight when they host the Los Angeles Kings.
Vitali Yachmenev also scored on Monday, giving him three goals in as many games and eight on the season. Nashville is 3-1-1 in its last five games, largely because of the team's performance in the third period. The Predators have scored seven goals in that period over the last five games, including two-goal performances that led to a victory over Pittsburgh and a tie against Phoenix. Los Angeles had its two-game winning streak snapped at Dallas, 3-1, on Wednesday. Craig Johnson scored for the Kings, who have dropped six of eight to fall into fourth place in the Pacific Division. A loss tonight will drop them below .500 for the first time this season. Luc Robitaille has five goals and nine points over his last nine games. He tops the Kings with 20 goals and is third on the team in scoring with 36 points. Los Angeles posted a 2-0 victory at Nashville in the season opener on October 2, but the Predators hold a 3-2 advantage in the all-time series.
