Junior college point guard Dre Mathieu (Knoxville, Tenn./Central Arizona College) committed to Minnesota and new head coach Richard Pitino on Tuesday, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.

Mathieu spent one season at Morehead State (2011-12) before transferring to Central Arizona. He held multiple high-major offers, including UCLA, Memphis, Washington State and Ole Miss.

Mathieu joins high school PG Daquein McNeil (Baltimore/Vermont Academy) in the Gophers' 2013 class.
