Three-star wing Marshall Wood (Lynchburg, Va./Rustburg) verbally commits to Virginia Tech, the Daily Press reports.

Wood also had offers from Virginia, Old Dominion, Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth, Michigan, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Charlotte.

An old friendship was a factor in Wood's decision according to his high school coach Brantley Shields: "He's good friends with (Tech quarterback and Lynchburg native) Logan Thomas. They have a good relationship. He felt at home there."
