#AskCoachB: Looking for hidden gems

I am going with Gary Clark of CP3. On a team with some outstanding players such as Theo Pinson, L.J Peak, Shelton Mitchell and others, it's easy to forget about Clark.

He shot 56 percent and averaged 13.3 ppg (second highest on team) and pulled down a team high 7.7 rebounds over an 18-game span against most of the elite players in the country. There is nowhere to hide in the EYBL. He is a bit undersized at 6-foot-6 for a power forward role but makes up for it with length and skills that create problems for opponents. He is a constant on the glass and on the defensive end.

Clark recently committed to Cincinnati and Mick Cronin. The Bearcats find guys under the radar who have produced and have upside. They might not be a star today but can develop, and Clark fits that.

As far as an impact freshman whom people are still sleeping on I would go with PG Nigel Williams-Goss at Washington. People have heard the name, but it's certainly not a household name yet. Evaluating his game all throughout his high school career, I witnessed someone who constantly improved at his craft, made his team win and performed best when the pressure was on. I spoke with UW coaching staff last week and in just a few months he is already leading his team, which is not surprising. Williams-Goss gives the team what it needs and does what the coach wants. That's the sign of a winner.
