Alex Owens is ranked No. 41 in our ESPN 60, and it is a very favorable position to be in. I have seen Owens quite a bit, and he is a rebounding specialist. He has a strong wide body with tremendous hands and improving footwork. He does a great job of going after the missed shot on both ends of the floor. He scores inside with the drop-off pass or put backs on second-chance points. But Owens still needs to learn how to post up and make a move against a set defense, which will come with coaching and practice. He is rated as the seventh-best power forward in the Class of 2015, which is exceptionally strong at that position. Players such as Ivan Rabb, Ben Simmons, Carlton Bragg and Cheick Diallo are having fantastic seasons. For now, Owens is in a good spot. When we update our rankings, his name will be discussed, but he has to get in better physical condition, develop a low-post game and help make his team win if he is to move up.
