UA jersey tour: Cavin Ridley

WATCH: Cavin Ridley UA jersey presentation

Wide receiver Cavin Ridley was presented with an Under Armour All America jersey on Wednesday afternoon, in a ceremony attended by friends, teammates and family.

For the No. 241-ranked prospect in the class of 2016, Wednesday’s ceremony was all about realizing a dream.

“It means so much to me,” said Ridley. “This has always been a goal and a dream of mine.”

Along with accomplishing a goal and dream, Ridley will get the chance to complete a very rare Under Armour All-America Game feat.

Last season, Alabama freshman standout receiver Calvin Ridley played in the Under Armour All-America Game. When Cavin takes the field January 2, the South Florida receivers will complete the rare double of brothers playing in the same all-star game in back-to-back years.

“It actually is cool that my brother played in the game last year, and I’m playing this year. It’s great to be able to ask him about practices and the game, and what to expect and how to prepare. It’s a blessing that both of us will have had the chance to live out a dream playing in the same game."

On the recruiting front, the 6-foot-2, 195-pound Ridley is closing in on a decision, with the Crimson Tide considered the favorite.

“Right now, I’m starting to get close to a decision. It will be out of Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. I will be committing soon.”

Six questions with Cavin Ridley:

What player are you looking forward to competing with or against in the Under Armour All-America Game?

"There is not a single player. I like being the underdog and working my way up to the top. That’s how I’m approaching the game."

If you could start a team with any player in your class, who would it be and why?

"That’s a hard question, but I would have to say Sam Bruce. He’s just electric, man."

What is your earliest football memory?

"That would be my first touchdown ever in high school. I was a freshman at Chaminade and played running back. It doesn’t happen that much with a freshman scoring on varsity."

Which football player did you watch as a kid?

"I’m a big fan of Sammy Watkins and Amari Cooper. Now my brother too. Sammy is electric. You never know what he’s going to do next."

If you could take on any pro in their sport, who would it be and why?

"That would have to [Arizona Cardinals cornerback] Patrick Peterson. Just to see what he knows and what position he would put me in as a receiver."

What number do your wear, and why?

"I wear 8. The reason is because my brother couldn’t finish his senior year, and I decided to wear 8 this season and finish what he couldn’t."
